Lexington, Mass. — VistaPrint USA, Incorporated, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VistaPrint Limited (Nasdaq:VPRT), the small business marketing company, today announced that employees in its Lexington, Mass. office will be donating their time as part of the company’s spring volunteer day on Thursday, April 23. Company members will be pitching in with three Boston-based charities including Boston Cares, Community Servings and Lexington Conservation Stewards.
“VistaPrint’s volunteer days enable employees to give back and make a difference in their local community. Our employees have a long-standing tradition of assisting charities around the globe,” said VistaPrint North America President Wendy Cebula. “After seeing the tremendous positive response to our inaugural volunteer day, we plan on holding two volunteer days a year – in the spring and fall. In these tough economic times, donating even a few hours of time can make a positive impact on a charitable organization and our employees want to do their part.”
Employees participating in the company’s second volunteer day will give their time to the Boston-area community in a number of ways. One group of employees will team up with Boston Cares to plant trees, shrubs and perennials to beautify the Charles River Walkway trail for the spring season. Another will work by assisting the Lexington Conservation Stewards in building boardwalks along the trails to assist in preserving the conservation lands within Hayden Woods. Other members of the VistaPrint staff will also prepare and package 700 meals for delivery in the Boston-metro area with Community Servings.
“It’s great that the company allows us to take the time to do things like this,” said Julien Zambeaux from VistaPrint. “A lot of companies wouldn’t let their employees take time off from work to engage in charitable activities, but everyone has been really supportive of this program. A few months back we spent a day cleaning up the banks of the Charles River, and now we have a variety of things we can pick from to help others. I really look forward to giving back during our charity days.”
In addition to volunteer days, VistaPrint also works with a number of charitable organizations throughout the year, including the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. For example, VistaPrint and Toys for Tots have worked in conjunction to produce unique holiday cards with iconic Toys for Tots imagery. Also, 50 percent of proceeds go directly to the charity.
